Mary Ellen Trodden of Kings Park NY, peacefully surrounded by her family on January 11, 2013. Cherished daughter of Deacon John and Ellen Trodden. Loving sister of Deborah Ferrara, John, James and Peter and sister-in-law of Carlo Ferrara Jr., Lauren, Lynn and Jennifer Trodden. Adored aunt of Kristina, Carlo III, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Sean, Ryan, Erin, Chloe and Aisling. Proud godmother of Danielle and Kaitlyn. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mary Ellen was Senior Recreation Therapist at the S.O.C.R. house for Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Kings Park, a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernains Div. 3 and the Catholic Daughters Court Ave Maria #832 of Kings Park. The family will receive friends on Monday 7-9pm and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Butler-Hughes Funeral Home, Inc. 69 Indian Head Rd., Kings Park. Catholic Daughters Service Tuesday 3:30pm. A.O.H. Service Tuesday 7:30pm. Funeral Mass, celebrated by Fr. Sean Gann, will be held on Wednesday 10:30am at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Kings Park. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Hauppauge NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Stony Brook University Hospital Cancer Research Center for Melanoma.
